Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has revealed he hopes the Reds can emulate Arsene Wenger’s legacy of giving youth a chance.
The Reds rock also defended the Emirates club, claiming that media sniping directed at French coach Arsene Wenger is undeserved. Carragher said:
‘Chelsea won the Double last season, and again Arsenal are still the biggest challengers.’
‘The criticism Arsenal have been getting over the past few years for not winning anything is a bit harsh – you forget the money these other teams have spent compared to Arsenal. Arsenal are a magnificent club the way they go about things, promoting young players, they are a fantastic example to everyone.’
The 33-year-old was withdraw midway through the second-half after a clash of heads during Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with the Gunners at the weekend.
