Wenger vows that Gunners will stick to their guns

Posted on July 08, 2012 by admin

Arsene Wenger is not as under fire as the Arsenal board are at the minute, but he does get a significant amount of criticism about the way the club is being run. Rightly or wrongly, the self-financing model and the adherence to a strict transfer policy is under attack by fans and the press and shareholders alike.

Wenger has spoken out about his vision for Arsenal and his determination to stick to his own football values. He uses Johann Cruyff’s template of bringing on and training promising young players as the role model for Arsenal. He is adamant that this is the best way to go.

Dutch legend Cruyff was responsible for setting in motion the way that FC Barcelona is organized today. Before Cruyff, Barcelona were intermittently successful but, his policies on youth and the family feeling of a club has resulted in Barcelona now being considered by many as the best club in the world.

Cruyff was Barcelona’s most successful coach in history until Pep Guardiola took charge. Guardiola spent his formative years being managed by, you guessed it Johann Cruyff. He practically invented tiki-taka football, which has done alright for Spain and Barca.

Of course we hate to lose our best players and I am not keen on the board, but I respect Wenger and his philosophy. Maybe we just need a little more patience
