Who would you miss most? Walcott or Van Persie?

VAN PERSIE OR WALCOTT? by AH

On the 4th July, Van Persie released a statement on his official website confirming his intentions. Arsenal fans now all have different opinions of Van Persie and what we should do with him. Being as he has rejected the chance to sign a contract, my personal opinion is that we should sell him. Preferably abroad but if Manchester City did make a big offer unfortunately I wouldn’t say no.

So with us all assuming Van Persie most likely will be leaving this summer, we move on to Walcott who is also in the same situation; whether to stay or to leave, the ball is in his court.

I honestly think Theo Walcott will re-sign whilst I was never really sure with Van Persie. The reason why I think Walcott will re-sign is because his situation is different, he doesn’t have all the top clubs chasing after him. Chelsea seems to be the biggest club interested in him, whilst there is interest from Juventus as well as Spurs supposedly. I don’t see him moving abroad, so that leaves us with Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool.
Can you see him moving to any of those clubs? Possibly Chelsea (where he wouldn’t be a starter) but apart from that it’s a no, so I’m hoping that he sees that Arsenal is the best option for him in his career right now.

Arsenal are rumoured to have offered Walcott a £80,000 p/w contract for 4 years however apparently he is asking for a £100,000 p/w contract instead. It seems as if the outcome will be resolved soon but I’m very disappointed that we didn’t speak to him before Euro 2012, and Walcott himself said he was surprised too.

But say worst comes to worst and both players leave, who would you miss most? Van Persie or Walcott?

It’s a tougher decision than it first looks once you weigh up all the negatives and positives. Just think about it and leave your thoughts in the comments section below
