I’m really tired of saying this but here goes. Arsenal once again dropped two vital points at the Emirates after playing 101 minutes against Liverpool earlier today, which has left the Gunners title hopes hanging in the balance.
Wenger’s men were moments away from bagging all three crucial points after Robin van Persie netted home a 97th minute penalty which Cesc Fabregas had won. However, referee, Andre Marriner, audaciously awarded a 101st minute penalty to Liverpool after the fourth official had put up eight minutes of extra time on the board.
Arsene Wenger believes the penalty was a soft one, but having seen the incident over and over again, I simply can’t agree with the Frenchman. Evidently, Dirk Kuyt slotted home the very late equaliser, and as a result, Arsenal’s chances of being crowned Premier League champions are fading quickly.
A majority of Arsenal fans will point blame at Marriner for adding an extra three minutes on top of the eight allocated, but ultimately the Gunners have once again shot themselves in the foot.
So, what FIVE things did we learn about Arsenal today?
