Wenger will give the Young Guns a chance by AH
Arsenal manager Arséne Wenger has said he will give young players the chance to develop and play for Arsenal again this summer.
Wenger said; “We have some young players who are already experienced, for example if I tell you Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, you will tell me he is not young but he is 18 years old,” Wenger told a press conference in Hong Kong.
“Jack Wilshere is 20, Aaron Ramsey is 21 and we have some more young players who might push up this season.
“On tour we have Chuks Aneke who has shown quality and of course Ryo [Miyiachi]. We also have younger players who are 16 or 17, who are not with us on tour, who will certainly appear this season. We are faithful to what we want to do which is to promote young players and give them a chance at that level.”
It’s understood that Wenger wants to keep Aneke, Miquel and Miyachi at the club this season and play them in the Capital Cup (formally known as the Carling Cup) and the early FA Cup games before sending them of on loan in January in order to gain some more first team experience.
Another player, that seems to be a rising star is, Argentine Goalkeeper Damien Martinez. The youngster has already been called up to the full Argentina squad and last season he joined Npower League Side Oxford United on-loan. The talented keeper could find himself as back up to Wojiech Szczseny this coming season, especially if both Fabianski and Mannone get their wishes to leave the club.
Does this mean there will be very few new arrivals (if any?)
