What will be Arsenal’s best eleven?

Arsenal’s dream team this summer! by KJ

Since last week, we have finally got some great developments in terms of signings with reports that Arsenal are close to signing Cazorla as well as being favourites to land Nuri Sahin on loan.

This article is just to analyse the potential 11 we could field next season and how good it could be. Our starting line-up would be:

Szczesny
Sagna Koscielny Vermaelan Gibbs
Arteta Sahin
Cazorla
Walcott Giroud Podolski

Subs: Fabianski/New Goalkeeper, Mertesacker, Gervinho, Chamberlain, Song, Coquelin, Rosicky/Ramsey
The strength of that squad is quite frightening.

Goalkeeper:
We all know that Szczesny has asserted himself as one of the best young keepers in Europe and really provides us with the physical presence and confidence we have lacked for the last few years.

Defence:
There won’t really be any new additions here. Sagna will be out injured for the first month of the season (presumably) and hence I’d assume Wenger would play it safe by fielding Coquelin as the RB.

Vermaelan and Koscielny will be our first choice CB pairing as one will be captain whilst the other is our best defender.
Gibbs has to be our left back as he seems miles ahead of Santos both physically and technically at the moment.

Midfield: This is where it gets interesting. Sahin has been strongly linked with us in a loan move and he’ll play that deep lying playmaker role. Arteta on the other hand will be given the defensive role in that midfield just to shield the back four whilst keeping the game ticking. Santi Cazorla is another player likely to sign for us. He will be a quality attacking midfielder that’ll really add some much needed creativity to the side.

Attack: I personally expect Walcott to sign very soon. He is an Arsenal player through and through. I expect Giroud to be our first choice striker and he should theoretically take to the Premier League like a duck to water. He is extremely physical and has a great shot on him. I expect Podolski to play as the left winger. He is quick and likes to cut in which will add variety to the attack. Walcott will go to the by-line whilst Podolski will cut in.

Even looking at the bench, it is so much stronger than what it was last season. In games like the one in which we were leading Milan 3-0, the bench could make that difference, and with Wilshere to come back as well, we really can make an assault on the league.
