Arsenal have made more room at the Emirates after South Korean striker Park Chu-Young has sealed his transfer to the Spanish club Celta Vigo. The club were promoted to La Liga in Spain last season and have been looking to boost their squad on a tight budget.
Spanish newspaper Marca reports that the agreement is for a year long loan deal, with no mention of an option or clause to make it permanent. The 27-year old is due to be presented at the Balaidos stadium in Vigo at 4 p.m. today after completing his medical.
Park has only made 6 appearances for Arsenal since joining last summer, and only one of them in the league. With Arsenal struggling for goals, if he couldn’t get a game now, he never will. Maybe regular play will help him get his form back, but I cannot see him ever making it at the Emirates.
With Nicklas Bendtner off to Italy with Juventus and Park off to Spain, all we need is for somebody to take Chamakh off our hands. The Gunners will then, however, be dangerously short of cover up front. Will Theo Walcott finally get the chance to be the striker he has always wanted to be? Or has Arsene Wenger got something “special” in mind?
