Arsenal striker to move to Tottenham?

Posted on August 20, 2012 by admin

There is a very strange report this morning saying that Arsenal could let their Moroccan international striker Marouane Chamakh go on loan to their arch-rivals Tottenham next season. The new Spurs manager Andres Villas-Boas is desperate to add to his strikeforce after failing to agree terms with Man City for Emmanuel Adebayor, leaving him with just Jermaine Defoe as his only experienced centre-forward.

Chamakh was left on the bench for most of last season, and with the arrival of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud at Arsenal this summer he is even more unlikely to get a game for the Gunners, but Arsene Wenger is struggling to offload him as no-one will match the 60,000 a week wages he gets at the Emirates.

Personally I can’t see Wenger allowing any Arsenal players to strengthen our greatest rivals, but then I didn’t think that he would allow Robin Van Persie to go to Manchester United, so what do I know!

Would Arsenal fans be bothered if Chamakh went to Tottenham?
