The Next Ten Days Are Vital For Arsenal

Posted on August 22, 2012 by admin

A vital ten days for Arsenal’s season by SC

After the result against Sunderland at the weekend there is a great demand on the club to spend money on creative talent along with a quality defensive midfielder. Overall Arsenal need to make at least two signings, one strong central midfielder to control the game from the middle of the park and a fullback. Preferably one that can play on the left and right, to cover Sagna and provide competition for Gibbs. However we really lacked creative quality against Sunderland, but with technical midfield players such as Rosicky and Wilshere to come back there is great optimism for better creativity in future games. There is also the fact Cazorla, Podolski, Walcott were not 100 percent sharp in this game. After seeing Cazorla in Spain especially at Villireal where he won player of the year, he really could be the gem purchase this summer. Expect after the first international break, a lot slicker, sharper midfield. And they’re going to have to be – with fixtures against Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea quickly coming up.

So overall there should not be panic about the creativity, but what is vital for Arsenal is to replace Song. That slightly defensive central midfielder could be replaced by Arteta who showed last season his positional sense was second to none and is never afraid to stick in a tackle. This is where I believe Nuri Sahin could come into the club and play alongside Arteta. However that deal im glad to say looks like it will only be done if Arsenal can get a view to a future permanent deal which makes the loan deal worthwhile. We don’t want temporary solutions, Sahin during his days at Dortmund dazzled German football fans which eventually led to his move to Madrid so getting him for a long period would be ideal for the club. Another player that would be equally capable of fulfilling this central role would be M’Vila the French international. For those who haven’t seen him play, he is a defensive midfielder with a great positional sense, an eye for a pass and has a high work rate. He has the kind of composure and passing ability that would suit perfectly into Arsenal’s style of football. Either way this is a big week for Arsenal which could make or break our season, we need quality in the middle of the park and hopefully were going to spend the money we gained from Song to bring in the necessary requirements. Wouldn’t it be nice if we spent more than we made this window? At the moment I have it that we have spent £38.5 million compared with the £39 million made from sales!
