Alex Song admits interest – but is happy at Arsenal

Posted on August 13, 2012 by admin

There have been numerous rumours linking the Arsenal midfielder Alex Song with a move to Barcelona, but there has been no official confirmation from either side, except the usual unsavoury tapping up be the Barcelona players.

Now today, Song himself has confirmed that there has been interest in him (and mentions Barcelona) but he has announced that he is very happy playing for Arsenal.

“I am not going to lie if I said there is no interest but I am at Arsenal and I am happy at Arsenal,” he said on Sky. “Barcelona are the best team in the world, and speculation will always continue until the window closes.”

They also “understand” that rather than thinking of leaving, Song is willing to first discuss an extension on his contract with Arsenal (which has two years remaining) before even considering a move to another club. It is good news for Arsenal fans for Song to come out with a statement of loyalty after the shenannigans from Robin Van Persie this summer….

Top defender confirms Arsenal interest

Posted on July 12, 2012 by admin

There has been a very interesting statement from the Egyptian defender Milo ahead of his participation in the Olympic Games in London next month. The highly-rated 21 year-old left-back is believed to be tracked by other top European clubs like Lyon and Benfica as well as Arsenal, but he is fully expecting an offer from the Gunners very soon.

“Arsenal officials have been following me since my participation in the Toulon tournament in 2009,” Milo said. “And the English team got more interested in me after Toulon 2012 and I’m now waiting for their official letter.

“I will meet with the Haras Al Hodood officials before I leave with the Olympic squad on Thursday to understand their stance from this offer.

“I believe the Arsenal scouts will watch me closely at the London Olympics. My participation at London 2012 is what will determine my next step, and I hope to come to a European club.”

Milo, who’s real name is Islam Ramadan, has played in the Egyptian League with Haras El Hodood for the last two seasons, is very keen to move to Arsenal, and surely if we have been tracking him for three years then Wenger must be pretty impressed. Does anyone know anything about him?
