The Spaniard signed for the Gunners on deadline day from Everton this summer and was thrown into the thick of the action.
His arrival along with Andre Santos and Per Mertesacker saw a revival in the North London side's form.
But midfielder Arteta, 29, revealed: "I have not had a lot of time to settle.
"As soon as I came here there was a pressure and we needed to get results.
"It has not been an easy time but we have got those results in the last two months."
Arsenal eased past West Brom on Saturday with Arteta scoring the third in a 3-0 win.
But it was the clean sheet that gave Arteta just as much satisfaction.
He added: "We have been trying to get everything tight and be more solid.
"I like to get forward, have freedom and I like to score goals.
"I want to participate more on the attacking side so I did that and I'm pleased.
"But now we are on a run, we are keeping it together and getting clean sheets. That's important. I am pleased that we won.
"We have a break now and it leaves you with a really bad sensation if you don't win before one of those.
"We have 15 days to work with the players and we need to come back very strong.
"We have to win every game because we are catching up and it is not one or two clubs chasing the title like the old days.
"We know we have the talent and the desire in our team to get better."
