Arsenal Debate: Should we make a loss by selling to Juventus instead of Man City?

Posted on July 18, 2012 by admin

All the latest Arsenal transfer rumours concerning Robin Van Persie appear to indicate that Juventus and Man City are the front-runners for his signature, with Man United as outsiders, although a partnership with Wayne Rooney would make more sense if he stays in the Premier League rather than fighting for a place in Man City’s star-studded team.

It is being reported that Robin’s favoured destination is Italy with the Serie A Champions, but it is a matter of record that they simply cannot afford to compete with the likely bids to come out of Manchester.

So with Arsenal (including our captain) are set to fly out on tour to the Far East, Arsene Wenger and the board are left with an intriguing dilemma. Should they let Robin go to Juventus on the cheap, or should they take the extra money on offer from City even though it will strengthen one of our rvals even more?

There is of course the other possibility that Arsenal will hold RVP to his contract for the last year, but with Sky Sports reporting that there are many offers on the table, plus the boards past performance of cashing in on contract rebels, it now seems certain that he will be leaving.

So back to the original question. Sell to Juventus at a loss? Or take the (extra) millions on offer from Manchester?

What do you think?
