Arsenal’s young midfielder Jack Wilshere, who missed the entire season of 2011-2012, is now ready to step up his rehabilitation procedure and try to get back in action before the new league season starts in August.
The English international has had a tough year as he saw Arsenal’s entire league campaign from the stands. He suffered an ankle injury during Arsenal’s pre-season friendly match against MLS outfit New York Red Bulls. Though he was initially thought to just be out for a few weeks, it was worse than previously imagined and the 20-year old underwent a surgery which ruled him out till the New Year. On his road to recovery in January, he suffered pain on his same ankle during training and had to be withdrawn immediately. Scans showed that the playmaker would require yet another surgery. This dashed the youngster’s hopes of representing England in the recently concluded Euro 2012 and also for making it into Great Britian’s Olympics squad. Wilshere has been training in the gym all this while, and is reportedly ready to take it up a notch and try and make it to Arsenal’s squad for the season opener against Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium. Will we see this exciting midfielder in Arsenal’s starting 11 on August 18th?
