The Walcott situation by AH
In this article I will be explaining my thoughts on the current situation regarding Theo Walcott.
The England winger is out of contract at the end of the season and there have been mixed reports about where his future lies.
Some reports say that he is looking to move away after the departures of Alex Song and Robin Van Persie, whilst others say that he really loves it at Arsenal and is discussing a contract as we speak. Walcott himself confirmed during the Asia tour that his agent and the club was discussing new terms and he admitted it may take some time to sort out but I firmly believes that he wants to stay.
Walcott speaks positively about the club and is always praising his teammates and this is my take on the situation. – The club must be confident of agreeing a new contract with Theo Walcott, or else he would have been sold already.
Its known that Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus were all interested in the winger at one stage in this transfer window, however, Arsenal seem to have put their foot down in order to continue negotiations.
Theo seems like a loyal character and despite the mixed fan opinion, I believe he will be an amazing player in the near future and to lose a player so easily would be an absolute disaster. We have been saying “this is Theo’s year” for a while now, and every time it never happens, but this year something is different. He is now, one of the more experienced, top players at our club and it’s time for him to step up and deliver, and due to our striker situation he may even get the chance to convert to a striker like he has always wanted.
