Does Connor Henderson Have A Future At Arsenal by AH

Connor Henderson is a player a lot of Arsenal fans may have forgotten about over the years. A few seasons back he was one of Arsenal’s most promising Youth players but after a few years of injures, his progress has been hampered and it’s yet to be seen if he will make it at Arsenal or not.

At the weekend he played in an international match for Ireland Under 21’s VS Italy Under 21’s in which Ireland won the game and Henderson scored a fantastic 35 yard screamer, and he displayed some of the qualities that remind you of why he is still on Arsenal’s books.

Connor Henderson had a great and promising debut in the 5-0 FA Cup win over Leyton Orient in 2011 but he’s had injury problems ever since.

It’s quite clear that the 21 year old winger is talented but given his age and the explosive talents of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as well as Ryo Miyaichi, will he make it here at all?

It would be difficult to see where he would fit in at Arsenal being as he has lots of players ahead of him in the team, however Wenger seems keen to keep him, as its rumoured he rejected several offers for Henderson over the summer. I would expect Henderson to go out on loan, to a championship side this coming January transfer window. That’s if he can stay fit, maybe he can even make an appearance for Arsenal in the early rounds of the Capital One cup this season.

I don’t personally think Henderson will make it due to his age (21 years old) and if a youth player hasn’t broken in and around the first team squad by then, it’s usually quite difficult for them. However that’s not always the case… What do you think?
