Fabregas: If Barcelona tell me to go, I’ll go!

Posted on September 05, 2012 by admin

There have been many rumours lately that the ex-Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas was having trouble fitting into Tito Vilanova’s plans since he took over from Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, but since they first appeared in Marca I was a little dubious (to say the least) as to whether it was true.

Guardiola made it his mission to prise Fabregas away from Arsenal, but now Vilanova is in charge he is trying to change the system and can’t seem to find a way to fit Cesc into the first team, and now Fabregas himself has made it clear that he is not happy being left on the bench.

Cesc said: ‘There’s no such thing as a great substitute in the world of football – I couldn’t tell you what makes a great substitute,’ Fabregas told Marca.

‘I always wish my team-mates well and put a happy face on. If I have to take my unhappy face home then so be it, but I would never let my team-mates or manager see it.’

‘I’ve always said that I play for the best team in the world, but I came here to compete, to learn and enjoy, not to sit wracking my brains.’

‘The manager knows what I can offer. I’m delighted to be a part of this team but when a coach tells me I have to go, I’ll go.’

‘But I will not make it easy for him to do so, by any means. I will keep going, looking forward to the time that things change.’

‘I came here to see out my career.’

So it looks like there is a real chance that Fabregas could be on his way out of his beloved Barcelona, but could Arsenal fans welcome him back to the Emirates if he did leave?
