Jenkinson – Beat Chelsea? Arsenal can beat anyone in the world!

The Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson is well aware that Chelsea are currently top of the League, but fully believes that the Gunners can take anything that their London rivals can throw at them in todays lunch-time KickOff.

He especially knows that he will have to be on top of his game to cope with Chelsea’s extremely talented attacking force. “They are everywhere in this league anyway, but everyone knows the quality of the likes of Mata and Hazard,” said Jenkinson.

“Of course they are great wingers but I have to make sure I am on top of my game whoever I mark. Even if it is not them, you have Victor Moses or someone else. Chelsea have an abundance of talent, so I have to be on my mettle whoever I am marking.

“The main thing is to focus on my own game, and hopefully I will take care of them that way.

“Chelsea are a strong side and have started the season well, so it is going to be a tough game. But it is important that we focus on how we have been playing. If we play to the best of our ability, we can beat any team in the world. I genuinely believe that.”

And it is that newfound confidence in the Arsenal squad which will bring three points today and a trophy or two this season! COYG!

Arsenal offload the best striker in the world

When was the last time a footballer failed a medical? Does it ever happen? I seriously hope noy, because the director general of Italian champions Juventus has said the words that all Gooners have been longing to hear. Beppe Marotta told Sky Sports Italia,

“Nicklas Bendtner is already in Italy and will undergo a medical tomorrow.”

It has been a strange saga so far. Danish international Bendtner and his agent were going to Italt to talk to AC Milan and Juventus had agreed a deal to take Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United. The transfer of Berbatov fell through when the Bulgarian international suddenly announced that he was going to join Fulham.

Juventus then got in touch with Arsenal and Bendtner and it seems like all parties have reached an agreement. Marotta refused to confirm the deal was done until everything is signed because he thought the deal with Berbatov was done. Apparently Berbatov had also told Fiorentina that he would sign for them. Juventus were informed that the striker had rejected Fiorentina.

“Perhaps he forgot to tell Fiorentina that.”

It has worked out well for us, though. The transfer fee is thought to be around £5 million, but that will only be paid after a year. The first year will be like a loan deal for which Arsenal will recieve £1 million and the deal will become permanent after that. The details have not been announced but it will probably have something to do with the number of appearances.

Arsenal have a world class player

Wenger thinks it is time to unleash the Ox.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was bought from Southampton last summer for a total of £10m with £5m in bonuses and instalments. The signing was questioned by the majority of Arsenal fans but were proved wrong by some world class performances from the youngster against the likes of Manchester City, Manchester Utd and even AC Milan.

Wenger remains upbeat with his new prodigy and discusses his prospects in his most recent interview. Here’s what he had to say:

“Last year Alex was still a young boy discovering the Premier League,” said Wenger. “This year he is still a young boy but I think, because of the European Championship, he has matured and improved football-wise.

“It is normal that you move forward quickly at this age and contribute more.

“The European Championship was very good for him confidence-wise, to have the experience with other English players from different clubs to see how they behave, how they prepare for big games, how they play under pressure. Overall, he is on the way up.”

The Euros this summer has been a real eye opener for the Ox. He has learnt to deal with the expectations of the whole nation on his shoulder. His debut will be one of the biggest of his career. He didn’t exactly set the world alight with his performances for England but we also have to appreciate that even Messi struggles internationally.

I really like Chamberlain. He is level headed, well-spoken and always eager to impress. Him and Wilshere are a recipe for success. Easily two of the best youngsters in world football at the moment. I just hope we get to see both play together soon!
