Do Arsenal Fans Want A Sugar Daddy Too? - by JG
A truly disappointing wave of supporters, lie in wait of bad news, then rush the blogs in angry (misinformed) discontent and veracious temperaments, bursting their brains over circumstantial evidence and emotional overflow.
“We want a sugar daddy! We want a sugar daddy! Yes Yes Yes!” This can easily be translated to “We want to be more like Chelsea and Man City! We want to be more like Chelsea and Man City!”
As the old saying goes “Money is the root of all evil” and it’s one of the best old sayings around, because in this day and age, it’s validity can be seen on a daily maybe even hourly basis.
Usmanov is a billionaire menace, a man who wants a “play thing”. That is what billionaires like doing; they enjoy buying sports teams and then “playing with them” like regular people do with fantasy football. Then, when play time is over, the club is left with bills that they cannot afford and suffer due to crippling and destructive amounts of debt.
Football players wages have skyrocketed into the realm of absurdity! It’s almost criminal how much money is involved in the “beautiful game”, and it is causing rifts throughout the footballing community. I keep hearing people drone on about “Times are Changing”, well they are changing for the worse if more and more people start thinking “all problems can be fixed by just throwing money at them”.
Arsenal is it’s own brand of football (in marketing terms); and what, some fans want to ruin that code of ethics that the club stands for, just to jump on the “sugar daddy” bandwagon? I will be blunt…PISS OFF!!! Arsenal are doing just fine without selling their soul to the god most people worship which is MONEY.
Now, before you naysayers start going on about “Arsenal are doing fine? No trophies in 7 seasons!” spoiled children act, let me remind you of what I proved (WITH FACTUAL EVIDENCE) in an article I previously posted. I proved to you that there is a connection between Arsenal managment’s frugal mentality and the building of the Emirates (which most of you have completely forgotten so I’ll have to explain it again)
Since the stadium was built Arsenal are required to pay (according to AW himself) just over 15 million pounds annually for the “mortgage” on the stadium. Include that with just the normal bills the club have to deal with i.e. keeping the pitch in pristine condition, the Emirates grounds, players wages, management’s wages, coaches wages, scouting expenses, marketing and much much more…having that extra 15 million is quite a hefty chunk of change to have to fork out every year; and before you say “Usmanov can pay off the stadium debt”, that is not possible, because Arsenal are required by contract to pay off the mortgage in increments, no more, no less.
Bottom line is, the stadium was built to solidify our amazing club for all time, but the sacrifice that had to be made was cuts to player wages, and cuts in transfer fee funds, and probably cuts in other departments. Did that mean we had to sign a few average players along the way? Or take chances on players who “might” develop into stars but didn’t? Yeah it did, and we all know their names; but even with those sacrifices, we have been able to stay in the Champions League for every single season, and still enjoy some of the best football in the world. So if you aren’t satisfied with what the club has been able to pull off, considering the circumstances, then I will be blunt again…PISS OFF you spoiled little children.
Financial Fair Play is not going to be “a joke”, like some foolish fans are claiming and if you want to actually know something about it before running your mouth then here is the link. Go and read up on it because there is a lot more at stake than a few measly fines. Also, with FFP coming into play, there would be no use for a filthy billionaire like Usmanov anyway because of the rules in the FFP policy. Again, if you want to talk about it, maybe you should read the actual documents…
Arsenal are going to benefit from the FFP basically because it’s like Arsenal have been operating under the FFP for the last decade; and because all of our competitors i.e. the mancs, chelski, citeh, barca, madrid; they are all swimming in debt and will eventually sink, they fear the FFP policy. The only other club I can think of who actually are responsible with their finances (and are on the same level as us) are Bayern Munich; and in the following years to come, I can see them becoming our (EURO) rivals. At the moment they only have the upper hand because they don’t have a brand new stadium to pay off.
Overall, I hate to sound unruly and dictatorial, but it’s getting ridiculous! All the fans that only come out of the woodwork just to slander, be negative and ooze out filthy and preposterous conspiracy theories about the club are pathetic and an insult to all the loyal “through thick and thin” fans out there who believe in the Arsenal Code of Ethics and Dignity. They are nowhere to be seen when the club is doing well, but when the team suffers, they start berating the manager, the players and anyone else they can think of. They smear the moneygrubbing (not to be mentioned) players that leave the club for financial gain, yet they demand that Arsenal be more like the despicable clubs that lured those said players away. All I can say is…what a sad state to get in, and hopefully they grow up.
I love Arsenal…and I want the club to remain perched above all the filthy money clubs, on it’s pedestal of dignity and ethics. Not to SELL OUT and become like our rivals. Be patient fellow fans…the stadium will be completely paid off in a few years time and Arsenal will become an even greater powerhouse than it is now, while all the other clubs are fumbling about trying to get their books in order. Things are already starting to look up with most of the undesirable players making their exits and top players like Podolski and Giroud being brought in. Good times are ahead, but until then, try not to lose your head.
