M’Vila may not sign for Arsenal after all. by KJ
The big news today is that the main source of all this M’Vila speculation has confirmed himself that the deal has fallen through.
Here’s what he had to say (@AlexFortyNine): Arsenal have pulled out of the M’Vila deal. Another one bites the dust.
Fee was agreed, no clue why they pulled out.
He first announced the news just before the West Bromich Albion game. The transfer was supposed to first be finalised just after the final game of the season. However, for reasons unknown to the public, the transfer was delayed until after the Euros. After the eventful International tournament, it was a matter of time before Arsenal.com announced the deal.
However, as the days passed on, there was clearly something up with the whole deal. Finally, the person who started the “rumour” (I use this lightly as this person comes across as a reliable and grounded person) has closed any speculation regarding this transfer.
Now according to him, the stumbling block may possibly be the lack of available cash. We’ve already spent £24 million this summer (give or take) and haven’t sold anyone as of yet.
This could prove how difficult Arsenal are finding it to shift some of their deadwood. Wenger clearly doesn’t want to spend without the guarantee that he’ll make it back through sales.
There is one big problem with this whole saga; no one seems to really know the truth. BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein (extremely reliable) has said that there was never proper contact from Arsenal, @AlexFortyNine was told that we pulled out in the last minute and loads of ITKs on Twitter are still sticking with M’Vila to Arsenal.
This whole business seems a bit fishy and it’s clear that no one person knows the whole truth but I urge you all to expect the worse.
