It was reported last week that the teenage strike sensation M’Baye Niang was on the verge of signing for Everton. The 17-year old had previously spent a week at the Emirates on trial and had obviously impressed every body. Arsenal were said to have made an offer to his French club Caen but it was rejected.
The reported value of the offers varied wildly from £500,000 to around £5 million, so basically nobody knew. Manchester City and a number of European clubs then expressed an interest but it seemed that Everton boss David Moyes had pulled off another coup. Niang had visited Merseyside and Moyes thought that his offer of around £2 million had secured him the youngster.
Talksport reports today, however, that Niang has signed for Italian giants AC Milan. The youngster will now spend the next four years at the San Siro.
“I’ve made a big dream come true by joining Milan. Now it’s up to me to prove that I’m good enough to be in this great club.”
Niang was always going to be a project for the future for Arsene Wenger, and I am sure that he will be keeping a close watch on his progress.
