Any Arsenal fans worried about Spurs this season? Peter Hill-Wood isn’t!

Peter Hill-Wood rubs salt on Tottenham’s wound by AM

Arsenal chairman has come out and said that Spurs are unlikely to pose any threat to Arsenal this season. Hill-Wood said – ‘I do not see Spurs posing a problem for us this season.

‘Their new manager may be a great success but they have to find a stadium.

‘That’s going to be very difficult. Finding a site and financing it is a major problem which we know all about.

‘We have a pretty good chance of challenging for the Premiership. I don’t see why we cannot win it this year.’

The above interview basically interprets into ‘they will remain in our shadows’. Last season Arsenal made an incredible comeback in the league after lagging behind Spurs in early part of the season. Last season was perhaps Spurs’ best chance to topple Arsenal as they had assembled their best team for some time now, while Arsenal’s was perhaps the weakest under Arsene Wenger’s day. But in the end Arsenal’s 3-2 victory over West Brom meant that the Gunners, once again, finished above Spurs. It was the 17th time in a row now that Arsenal have finished ahead of Tottenham in the league. So with a new manager and their best player Luka Modric leaving for Real Madrid, it looks like the Gooners will celebrate St. Totteringham’s day once again.

I’m not sure that we can actually challenge for the title, but I’d have a bet on Andre Villas-Boas getting the sack before Christmas!
