DON’T BLAME VAN PERSIE – BLAME KROENKE!

Posted on August 16, 2012 by admin

WE CANNOT BLAME RVP! AND HERES WHY: by (a very angry!) VP

COMMON OPINION AMONGST THE FANS IS THAT THE NEW SIGNINGS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH TO CONVINCE RVP THAT THE CLUB WERE SERIOUS ABOUT CHALLENGING. THIS NO LONGER HOLDS TRUE AFTER WENGER ADMITTING TODAY THAT PODOLSKI AND GIROUD WERE BROUGHT IN AS PROSPECTIVE REPLACEMENTS. THUS, THESE PLAYERS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PURCHASED IF RVP STAYED AND RVP’S RESERVATIONS HAVE JUST BEEN PROVED TO BE CORRECT. MOREOVER, NOT ONLY DID WE LOSE OUR BEST PLAYER, BUT WE CHOSE TO SELL TO A RIVAL FOR THE SAKE OF AN EXTRA £7MILL (WHEN WE COULD HAVE SOLD HIM TO JUVENTUS), POTENTIALLY GIVING MAN UTD THE TITLE AND RULING OURSELVES OUT IN THE PROCESS.

WE CANNOT BLAME THE STADIUM AS WE HAVE A VERY FAVOURABLE LONG TERM LOAN IN PLACE, MEANING THAT IT WILL PRETTY MUCH PAY FOR ITSELF. THERE IS AN IMPORTANT DISTINCTION TO BE MADE BETWEEN FINANCIAL PRUDENCE AND PROFIT MAXIMISING, SO PLEASE STOP USING THE FORMER AS A SMOKE SCREEN TO ACHIEVE THE LATTER AS IT’S BECOMING PATRONOSING. WE DON’T NEED TO DO A MAN CITY AND GO CRAZY, AND IS NOT WHAT THE MAJORITY OF FANS ARE SUGGESTING- WE JUST WANT THE CLUB TO INVEST ITS CAPACITY!

WE CANNOT BLAME WENGER. HIS HANDS ARE CLEARLY TIED AS THERE IS NO WAY HE WOULD HAVE LET RVP GO, AND TO MAN UTD OF ALL TEAMS.

WE MUST BLAME THE BOARD AND PARTICULARY, MR KROENKE WHO DOESN’T EVEN LIKE FOOTBALL. HOWEVER, WE DARE NOT QUESTION THEIR STRATEGY AS WE GET MADE TO FEEL FINANCIALLY NAIVE AND UNGRATEFUL FOR DOING SO. OUR POSITION AS ONE OF THE MOST HIGHEST VALUED CLUBS IN THE WORLD HAS ONLY BEEN ARRIVED AT BECAUSE OF THE PLAYERS THAT WE’VE SOLD ON IN RECENT YEARS AND LACK OF INVESTMENT THEREOF. THIS HAS DONE NOTHING TO BETTER OUR FAN BASE AND IS NOT HOW ANY OF THE OTHER CLUBS (MAN UTD, BARCA AND REAL) ARE IN THE TOP FOUR ON THE LIST . IF WE WERE ON THAT LIST BECAUSE OF FOOTBALLING REVENUE EARNED FROM I.E. SPONSORSHIP, MERCHANDISE REVENUE, T V REVENUE AND ETC THEN THAT WOULD HOLD SIGNIFICANCE AND WOULD MAKE OUR FINANCIAL POSITION MORE SUSTAINABLE. FINANCIAL PROSPERITY SHOULD BE A BI- PRODUCT OF SUCCESS AND NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND, OR IT BECOMES MEANINGLESS AND ONLY BENEFITS THE OWNERS. IT’S NO COINCIDENCE THAT AS THINGS ARE RIGHT NOW, KROENKE STANDS TO MAKE MORE MONEY ON HIS SHARES THEN HE INITIALLY PAID FOR THEM.

WE’VE INVESTED A NET AMOUNT OF £13M, THIS SEASON DESPITE FINISHING 18 POINTS BEHIND THE LEADERS,LOSING OUR STAR PLAYER/CAPTAIN AND BEING TROPHYLESS FOR SO LONG. BEING THE THIRD HIGHEST VALUED CLUB AND HAVING ONE OF THE MOST WEALTHIEST SHAREHOLDERS ON THE PLANET WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SELL OUR SOUL TO THE DEVIL FOR A MEASLY £7MILL, WHEN WE COULD HAVE JUST LET HIM GO TO JUVENTUS FOR £15MILL. THIS SAYS A LOT ABOUT WHERE THE CLUB’S HEADING AND WHY RVP LEFT US IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Ozzy: Forget Usmanov and Kroenke – Arsenal Fans should pull together!

Posted on August 09, 2012 by admin

Let’s see what happens in the coming months by OzzyAFC

Well so far its been an interesting and somewhat nail biting closed season for Arsenal fans, we’ve done some superb business so far with the acquisition of Podolski, Giroud and most recently Cazorla and we have thus far managed to retain the possible “want outs” in the shape of Walcott and Van Persie. We are still in the chase for Sahin and possibly Wanyamma as well as the tall Korean from Celtic.

All in all it’s looking like an exciting time ahead if you’re of the north London red and white persuasion.

Mean while Alex Ferguson bemoans the fact that we are “not speaking” to him regarding RVP’s transfer to the hated red devils and also about the fact that FIFA appear to be turning a blind eye to PSG’s mammoth spending and therefore flaunting the FFP rules brought in by the illustrious Mr Platini.

Back in our own camp Alisher Usmanov is coming under fire for stating that the board’s current policy will ruin the club as a footballing power and Many Pro board fans are calling him a rapist and a gangster.

Well I’ve always been a pro Usmanov advocate and I have come under a great deal of flack for being so, I’ve been the first to criticise the Boards lack of ambition and the reluctance to spend money however even I have to say that so far I’ve been happy with the business done in the transfer window and also the apparent surge in ambition that has previously not been shown.

I still advocate Usmanov being represented on the board and having a little extra to spend in the transfer market and a little more in the wage structure to retain and buy top class players but as that not going to happen any time soon I have to carry on supporting my club and tentatively backing the moves that they are making.

We are currently in a very good position and if we can retain the services of a certain Dutchman AND players like Wilshere and Rosicky can come back quickly we may just have a good shot at some silverware this season. Its with this in mind that I say Perhaps the expenditure we have made this season will lead us back down the path of glory and we have really gone out of our way as a club to get this business done early and have not held back on the monies which leaves my argument about breaking the boards recent policy about not spending a fair argument.

Perhaps the moaning and protests from the Anti Kroenke Pro Usmanov side has had some impact after all and if this is the case then wont ALL Arsenal fans benefit from this next season?? I think its way past time that we all just got on with it together as the pro Kroenke side have what they want and the pro Usmanov side have a lot to look forward to under the current regime so lets stop the insults and backbiting and pull together as its all to play for in the coming months.

Will Arsenal fans welcome the Stan Kroenke takeover?

Latest reports suggest that Arsenal football club have agreed to be taken over by Stan Kroenke, which would value the club at £731 million ($1.2 billion).

The American billionaire, who owns close to 30% of the clubs shares, is said to have offered Arsenal shareholders £11,750 per share after already securing 16.1 and 15.9% from Danny Fiszman and Nina Bracewell-Smith respectively. This means Kroenke now controls 62.89% of Arsenal. The American tycoon said:

‘Arsenal is a fantastic club with a special history and tradition and a wonderful manager in Arsene Wenger. We intend to build on this rich heritage and take the club to new success.’

Kroenke, who already owns major sports franchises in the United States, still has to make an offer for the remaining shares in the club which are held by Alisher Usmanov.

Arsene Wenger welcomed the takeover. The Frenchman said:

‘I have worked with Stan Kroenke at board meetings over the past couple of years and I believe he has the best interests of Arsenal at heart. He understands the club’s heritage and traditions and our ambition to run the club in a way which protects our long term future.’

This news should be music to Arsenal fans ears. At least now the club has one owner and can finally compete with the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester City during the forthcoming transfer window. I believe our new owner is investing for the good of the club as Wenger himself has stated, unlike the Glazer family over at Manchester United.

It seems Wenger has been given the green light to stay on despite his failure to win a trophy for what may be 6 years after the conclusion of this season. However, I think the Arsenal boss will be forced to buy more players during the summer window in order to build a star-studded team. It’s still early, but I believe this takeover is a step in the right direction for the Gunners.

Usmanov using Arsenal stake for greater role in Kroenke regime

Alisher Usmanov is not interested in selling his Arsenal stake to Stan Kroenke, it has been revealed.

The London Evening Standard says Usmanov is keen to seek greater influence in the running of the club and will use his share as a holding stake.

There is no indication at this stage that Usmanov will try to mount a rival takeover, having had a late bid for Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith's 15.9 per cent share rebuffed despite offering £12million more than Kroenke.

It is not yet clear exactly what influence Usmanov is seeking. The billionaire's stake is sufficient to block any major capital restructuring at the club which is not in his interest. However, he will not be able to block any transfers, contract negotiations, commercial ventures or general day-to-day business decisions.

Kroenke hands Wenger £40M to immediately spend on Arsenal

Stan Kroenke is handing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger an immediate £40 million to spend this summer.

The Sun says American Kroenke has increased his stake in the club to nearly 63 per cent after buying another £233.2million of shares.

Yet with Arsenal not winning a trophy since 2005, Kroenke hopes boss Wenger will use the £40m available for strengthening.

Mega-rich Kroenke, on the board since 2008, is now hoping to buy the rest of the club's shares although he will not sink any of his personal fortune into the club.

Arsenal chief Gazidis: Beginning of new Kroenke era

Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis acknowledged an end of an era as Stan Kroenke completes his takeover of the club.

Kroenke has asked the existing Arsenal board to remain in place.

Arsenal's independent directors - chairman Peter Hill-Wood, chief executive Ivan Gazidis, Ken Friar, Sir Chips Keswick and Lord Harris of Peckham - are recommending that shareholders accept Kroenke's offer.

"It's the end of an era but it's also the beginning of an era," said Gazidis.

"We're looking forward to Mr Kroenke bringing his sports experience to the table. As you know, he's a long-term owner in sports teams in the United States.

"His current football team, or soccer team, in the United States the Colorado Rapids are the current Major League soccer champions. And he's had success across his different sports businesses so I think that we can anticipate that this will be a positive deal."
